User age category

When registering, the user enters their date of birth.

There are 3 age categories for users:

16-23

24-50

51-100

 

Question:

how can we create age categories (perhaps using taxonomy?),

and how can we automatically assign the corresponding age category to a user if we have the date of birth they enter during registration?
