Group Buying Website
Group Buying (GB) – is a term that refers to a public invitation by an Organizer for Forum participants to join in a wholesale purchase of certain goods with a slight markup in favor of the Organizer, who incurs the costs of collecting, buying out, and distributing the goods. In other words, it's an organized purchase of goods at wholesale prices.
GB is not a store – it is merely a collective purchase of goods at the manufacturer's price, facilitated by an Organizer who adds a small fee (the organizer's commission).
Group Buying (GB) is not a commercial enterprise!
Organizer – a person who undertakes the organization of the group buying process.
GB Participant – a person who places an order and later makes a payment to the Organizer.
Payment – consists of the wholesale price plus a percentage fee set by the Organizer for purchasing the goods from the supplier.
It’s no secret that retail prices in stores are significantly higher than the wholesale prices offered by large suppliers and manufacturers. However, an average person cannot purchase goods directly from wholesalers at minimum prices – wholesalers do not sell in retail, and there are other restrictions as well. For instance, goods like clothing or shoes are often sold only in full size runs. When a group of people interested in the same product from the same brand comes together, the minimum quantity for a wholesale order can be reached. This is what’s known as a “Group Buy.”
Now you can create your own group buying website. Gather people to buy items at lower prices or sell products and earn money from it. The group buying site is built in the style of a social network, with user profiles, discussions, and private messages. Orders for items are placed via comments, and those comments can be tracked through a convenient tracker. The site has a handy multi-upload form for photos, and each image can be commented on individually.
And the best part – the site is built on Drupal, making it easy and straightforward to manage.
