Catalog Website — this is your electronic showcase, a catalog of products on the Internet. On the pages of a catalog website, visitors can view the appearance of the products you offer, often from several angles, learn their specifications, and read about usage features. A catalog website helps sell your products, and sometimes even directly facilitates their sales.

Types of catalog websites:

1) Informational Catalog

An informational catalog allows you to place an unlimited number of products, divided into categories. For each product, a set of characteristics suitable for its specifics can be assigned. For example, these may include sizes, colors, configurations, prices. For each product, you can upload one or several photos, and the website will provide the option to enlarge them.

Sections of an informational catalog website:

- About the company (textual or graphic information about you or your company);

- Contacts (address, work and mobile phone, fax, e-mail, ICQ, etc.);

- Services (text describing the services provided and their features, textual and graphic information, product price list);

- Product catalog (brief and detailed textual information about the product, product photo gallery, review system, and voting for particular products);

- Separate photo gallery (placement of graphic images, photographs, portfolio).

2) Catalog Website with Ordering Capability

Very often, the term "online store" means exactly this kind of catalog website with ordering capability. It also allows placing an unlimited number of products, but additionally includes a shopping cart where visitors can add products while browsing the site. By clicking the "place order" link, the visitor can review all the contents of their cart, specify the quantity of items (or remove some positions), then enter their contact details and send the order to you. As the website owner, you receive a notification by e-mail with a link to detailed information about the order contents and the visitor’s contact information.
