Drupal Features (Drupal Features Management)

Features is a module that allows you to bundle site functionality and transfer it to another site with a single click. The result is a feature that can be installed like any other module. A Feature is a collection of entities that together provide a specific piece of functionality on a site.

The Features module provides both a user interface (UI) and an API for bundling various Drupal components (modules, content types, taxonomies, Views, menus) into a single Feature module. Like any module, a Feature module includes a .info file, can be managed through the admin interface, and can be enabled, disabled, updated, or removed.

Examples of functionality you can package into feature modules:

  • Photo gallery
  • Online store
  • And more…

Features is primarily geared toward site developers. It may not be of interest to individual site owners, although you can use feature modules built on other sites on your own site—for example, modules shared by other developers.
