Image Menu

Can you advise which direction to take - I need to create a navigation menu from images (the font is unique, and using styles is not an option) 

I need to assemble a horizontal strip of menu items (images) where the active section should change the image just like on mouse over

Is there possibly a module for such tasks?

Google didn't provide any useful suggestions.
