the administrator functions are missing

Hello!
I installed Drupal 7.22 following the instructions on Denver. However, when I log into the site and authenticate as Admin, I only see "Add content" in the left menu. Even though the Administrator checkbox is checked in the account settings.
What could be the problem? Could you please help?)
